This past month has been amazing to watch the connections Sean is making. It seems like everyday he is doing something new. In the last month or so he started:

Crawling
pulling up on everything
waving hello and goodbye
giving kisses
mimicking all sorts of noises and movements
and has signed "more" a few times (picture below)

I am in awe of this little boy!The other day at my parents I was playing the piano with Sean and I was taking his hand and dragging it along the keys so that all the notes were being played as our hands moved up the keys. On Easter as Sean and his cousin Dylan sat at the piano Sean kept reaching his little arm down the keys and swinging it up - he wasn't pressing hard enough to make any noise, but it was so amazing to me that he remembered doing that with me!

Just chillin at the park

Spring

There are two trees in our yard that look so dead and barren all winter long but each spring they wow me with their amazing color and blooms. I thought it would be fun to do a little picture documentation as this process happens - not every day, but hopefully at least once a week. It would be fun to see some others do the same thing so we can watch God's amazing craftsmanship and creativity through nature. Here are the two I will be following:

This first one I have yet to find the name for but it has cherry blossom type blooms on it.
This second one is our Japanese maple that I have talked about before. It has very sentimental meaning to Ryan and I and has incredible leaves that change through spring, summer, and fall.

Madness

So last week was championship week . . . . NCAA div. 1 men's basketball that is. March madness is in full stride at our house. I know this because for the first time this year (and not the last) Ryan was in a bad mood yesterday because his team lost. At first I couldn't figure out what was wrong but quickly remember just how into these games Ryan gets. And I shouldn't really be pointing the finger as some of you may know I get quite into it as well. After Dukes amazing first round loss last year (I foolishly had Duke going to the final 4) My bracket was shot - and I let everyone know it.

There is a buzz of excitement here today as it is selection Sunday which means that brackets will be available and ready to fill out. I know I will take part in a pool with Ryan and all his friends, but was thinking, "how much fun would that be to do with a bunch of blogger girls!" Now, I know this is not our typical cookie exchange, knitting party, coffee date, but I have a feeling it would be fun, and maybe bring out a different side of us.

Soooo, in the spirit of some friendly competition (and lets face it the games will already be on in some of our houses anyway) if your are interested in participating in a bracket pool just leave a comment and I will get something organized. Oh, and if you know nothing about the teams it is ok - they are actually ranked on the bracket so you don't need to know much about them in order to guess the outcomes.

Let the madness begin!!!!

7 random things

ok, tagged by Mandy

1. I am quite obsessive compulsive about my sandwiches, tacos, toast etc. Each bite needs to have the same amount of topping, bread, tortilla as the next, first, and last bite. I remake subway sandwiches.

2. I have had a lot of strange injuries but only broken 2 bones - collar bone and sternum.

3. My husband has way better fashion sense than I do

4. I really don't like clothes shopping.

5. My eyelashes are very light - almost blonde. I rarely go out without mascara - but that is usually the only makeup I wear.

6. If I wasn't a teacher I would love to work with animals at the zoo.

7. I am a one snooze type of girl. For some reason waking up at 5:23 and knowing I can sleep for 7 more minutes is better than just getting up at 5:30 without any warning.

New Mexico

Sorry I have not been posting (or commenting) lately, life has been busy . . . . lots of stories, not enough time to write. So perhaps I will see you over coffee sometime to chat. In the meantime enjoy the shots of our recent trip to New Mexico:
