A special Valentine's Day

So we had an appointment earlier this week, just a regular appointment. But my belly was measuring small so our Doctor wanted us to come in for another ultrasound. It kind of freaked us out, but we also were excited that we would get to see our little boy again. So we went in on Valentine's Day and got some more pictures of him. He is obviously bigger now, so the pictures are not as good, but he is still pretty darn cute! Oh, and everything is fine with him and my belly size. He must have just been laying flat when she took the measurement - playing jokes already!!!

Here is his profile - if look closely you can see his lips, nose, forehead, and you can even see three of his fingers right above his lips!

The next two shots are looking directly at his face.

And finally. . . his feet. So cute! The ultrasonographer said he had a big head and big feet, she also said he was a cute baby (like she would tell expectant parents any different!).

And here is my belly at 29.5 weeks - it isn't moving out a lot, but it sure is moving more up into my ribs if you compare it with previous ones.

Have I mentioned . . .

Have I mentioned how amazing it is to feel the baby move? Our little guy is quite the mover - experts say that with your first you should start to feel the movement anywhere between 20-24 weeks. Well he was kicking hard at 18, "gonna be a soccer player"! So for 2 months now I have gotten to experience this little life moving inside me. It is pretty bazaar, but so amazing. The coolest part is when Ryan feels/sees him move also - I can't even start to explain the connection that I feel with Ryan & our child, it is like the coolest feeling of being a family and being filled with so much love. I have heard from friends who are parents that you cannot even imagine the love you feel with a child - I think I am beginning to understand what they are talking about. Sometimes I just lay there and think about our little boy and how he is living, hearing, thinking, and so connected to me right now - I hope I can remember these moments 4 months from now when I am going on 2 hours of sleep. Here is a picture of the precious little legs and feet we have been feeling. We are just getting into our third trimester - you know the one where I just get huge . . . so I am really trying to enjoy the little kicks, moves, and pokes now because I have a feeling as he grows it will not be quite as cute.

Have a great week!

The Name Game

Ryan recently heard on the radio that it costs approximately $800,000 to have and raise a child to the age of 18 (including college). Based on that information Ryan and I have decided to auction off the naming rights of the little guy to the highest bidder. Here are a few pictures of him at our big 18 week ultrasound to help you get started (Isn't he cute!).

He is about 5 - 5 1/2 inches long at this point!

He already is taking after his father with his bowlegged stance! Ready for the wranglers I guess.

The Thinker

I know we mentioned before that our baby was going to be really smart based upon the size of head in comparison to the rest of the body, but check this out: We had another ultrasound done recently and our baby was deep in thought in the "thinker" pose (not to mention the well developed brain in photo 2). Talk about intelligent! Ok, so maybe he/she was just sucking their thumb, but even figuring that one out at such a young age takes some skill. Enjoy the photos!
