The Name Game

Ryan recently heard on the radio that it costs approximately $800,000 to have and raise a child to the age of 18 (including college). Based on that information Ryan and I have decided to auction off the naming rights of the little guy to the highest bidder. Here are a few pictures of him at our big 18 week ultrasound to help you get started (Isn't he cute!).

He is about 5 - 5 1/2 inches long at this point!

He already is taking after his father with his bowlegged stance! Ready for the wranglers I guess.

Matt & I will pay you $500 if you name the little guy Tyler Skyler Kyler. What do you think?
Or Matthew Amanda Kyler - whichever you prefer.

I can't believe you are auctioning off the rights to name my grandson!!! Say it ain't so! I'm thinking you should name him after one of his great-great grandpa's - Homer or Gunder. Or maybe you could change it to Gunner, since he will probably take care of the prairie dog problem on the ranch by the time he is three! I think he looks a bit like his Uncle Tim, except for the size of his head (which is a very good thing!) Thanks for the pics - we are excited!!!!

I'd give you cash for naming him Roberto. But Roberto Kyler sounds like Roberto Carlos and then that would relate him to the Brazilian Singer, or the Brazilian soccer player... hmm, nah it doesn't match.

Couple of bucks for Bob.

I'm suspicious of that number - does that include "subsidized" costs like education and full medical expenses that are covered by the state and/or medical insurance or is that real out of pocket expense? I know, I'm a nerd. But still curious.

I will pay an additional $500 if you name him Tyler Skyler Kyler. That's hilarious! But you also have to promise to only ever call him by all 3 names. No abbreviations.

I think if you go with Tyler Skyler Kyler (TSK) you will have to bump the child raising cost up to a million. By my calculations you will need the extra 200 grand for...
1) More doctor bills from TSK getting beat up at school.
2) Extra underpants for TSK from all the wedgies he will get at school.
3) Higher insurance premiums for having to insure a kid who gets beat up/wedgied all the time.
4) A fifth year of college. Why? Profs will cross him off the class list thinking the folks in registration are playing a joke.

Lets be serious here people. The name should be.........

Drum roll please.

Drumdrumdrumdrumdrumdrumdrumdrum.

Roll.

Ryan Lee Kyler, Jr.

Stick with what works.

You guys are funny!!!
eto- I think you are right, Roberto just doesn't flow right with Kyler, Bob however . . . .

Polly - I guess I could try and track down the data behind the study, but then I might get grouped into your nerd category (like I am not already!).

Tim - I am so proud! My funny little brother! I laughed so hard when I read your comment, mostly because of how true it is!

love you all!
